VANCOUVER -  The thought occured just last night  that Ryan Jenkins, the suspect in the murder and mutilation of his ex-wife model Jasmine Fiore, would most certainly not be long for this world and would probably die by his own hand within the week.

In fact, that all too obvious prognostication was borne out late Sunday when police confirmed that Jenkins'  body had been found in Western Canada.

Thoughout the weekend, reports had been circulating and sometimes published that there had been sightings of the fugitive. Canada.com reported that a suspect had been arrested at the Toronto airport, though the story has apparently been removed from the site. Dog the Bounty Hunter was even ready to join the manhunt.

SAN RAFAEL, Calif. – James Raphael “Rafe” Mitchell, son of late porn mogul Jim Mitchell, on Friday pleaded not guilty to charges he murdered his former girlfriend and kidnapped their infant daughter.

According to police, Mitchell beat to death 29-year-old Danielle Keller in the backyard of the Novato, Calif., home she shared with her mother and the baby. Keller’s body was discovered July 12.

The child was recovered unharmed upon Mitchell’s arrested near Sacramento later the same day after a five-hour manhunt. Samantha Mitchell celebrated her first birthday the day her mother was murdered.

PHILADELPHIA – Taleon Goffney, known in the gay adult industry as internet performer Teyon, on Wednesday received a sentence of three to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to committing two South Philly burglaries in February 2008.

As part of a deal, Goffney also pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal conspiracy and named his twin brother, Keyontyli Goffney, as his accomplice.

MYRTLE BEACH, NC – Police have charged eight University of North Carolina School of the Arts students with “participating in preparation of obscene material” after they were observed filming what reportedly was a non-nude simulated sex scene under a pier on a North Carolina beach.

Officers were called to the scene about 10:15 p.m. July 1 by a woman who was vacationing in Myrtle Beach, NC, with her 12-year-old grandson.

PUTNAM COUNTY, FL. - America's battle to control sex offenders has taken a drastic turn in Florida, where homeless men convicted of sex crimes and labeled sex offenders have been assigned to live under bridges after release from jail.

While the fact of homeless sex offenders living under bridges is not new, the fact that the Department of Corrections is actually making a bridge an official domecile and assigning offenders to "live" there has some people wondering if the state's program is functional.

The problem, according to legal observers, is an ordinance passed in 2005 by Miami-Dade County that forbids people convicted of sex crimes with minors from living within 2500 feet of schools, playgrounds or even school bus stops. The previous law had mandated a distance of 1000 feet.
